Many of you have likely noticed the emergence of a new phenomenon among the foodie connoisseurs of our nation, cupcakes. So, in honor of this, each of you can frequent here for a cupcake, something I’ve dug up from the archives of NPR, or who knows where. I promise it to be enticing, sweet, and intellectually fattening.
I recently wrote this commentary on Macolm Gladwell’s article “John Rock,” featured in his new book What the Dog Saw.
Then I stumbled upon NPR’s new series Hidden World of Girls. Where I found this podcast strikingly related and oh so interesting.
The whole series is quite delightful. In fact, I just might add it to my list of ‘must haves.’ After visiting a Bulgarian church a few months back, where the service featured the memoir of an ex Romanian gypsy, I also found interest in this. These girls, from Ireland, provide an interesting take on the gypsy phenomenon.
